Another Game Awards Banquet & Auction has come and gone and I hope everyone had a great time. Thanks to many sponsors and club members, we had a lot of very nice items. I want to take this opportunity to thank all the club officers and club members who worked hard to make this year’s banquet a success. I especially want to thank the Secretary/Treasurer, Cathy, for her dedicated hard work to organize and get everything ready. She sure makes my job easier. Our next adventure is the Tucannon Shoot. We are going to need all the help we can get for setup, running, and take down. We will be setting up on Friday the 19th. Cathy will need help with registration both Saturday and Sunday. Sunday after 3pm we will be tearing down and reloading the trailer. Please show up and help! On the job training is available for free!! I know I keep harping on it, but we really need some club members to step up and volunteer to become officers in the club. The club is burning out the most dedicated members we have - 90% of the members that show up to help are past officers. Most of the current officers have filled multiple positions for many years. We need new “blood” to continue to make the club better and for it to continue to grow and provide fun opportunities and the functions that we’ve become well known for. We have one club member who has expressed an interest in one of the positions that will be coming open in November and he is going to “shadow” the current officer so he can learn what that job entails. If anyone out there is thinking about running for office and would like to do something similar, please contact me and we will set it up. Now, I will get off that soapbox for a while. Remember, the Tucannon Shoot is the 20th and 21st of March and the FishHook Ranch Shoot is May 15th and 16th. The club picnic is in June and then it is time to get ready for hunting season.
